The Animal Allies project strives to improve the lives of animals in the Champaign-Urbana community. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with shelters to care for abused and neglected animals, while advocating for their adoption and continued care. Volunteers can also work within the community to provide educational resources for pet lovers of all ages.

Why Animal Allies?: "I chose this project because of my love for animals and my history of work I have done with a variety of different animals. I understand the issues these communities face and I love the opportunity to contribute to the solution. Animals are a vulnerable part of the community, and they are unable to help themselves. By making an impact in their lives, we help them live happily. My plan for the year includes involvement with different organizations in the area, but also working to inform volunteers of the importance of this project."
Why I love VIP: "I love VIP because of the variety of meaningful projects volunteers can partake in. Each project sparks a different interest for every volunteer creating an environment to learn more about the community. I have met amazing people with the same dedication to create a positive impact in Urbana-Champaign."
